Delta Receives Army Gray Eagle LRIP Phase II

July 28, 2011

Horsham, PA – Delta Digital Video, a business unit of Delta Information Systems, Inc., is pleased to announce it has received an award to deliver its Model 6021R Standard Definition Airborne Video Encoders (SD-AVEA) in support of the U.S. Army’s Gray Eagle Low Rate Initial Production (LRIP) Phase II. The Grey Eagle, designated MQ-1C, is the U. S. Army’s Extended Range, Multi-Purpose (ER-MP) unmanned air vehicle system. The Grey Eagle provides persistent intelligence gathering, surveillance, reconnaissance and direct attack capability for the war fighter.

The Model 6021R is a rugged airborne video encoder designed to meet the requirements of the Motion Imagery Standards Board (MISB) which promotes interoperability within the Intelligence-Surveillance- Reconnaissance (ISR) and Geo-spatial Intelligence communities. Delta’s Model 6021R has been certified by the Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC) to be compliant with the MISB standards. This certification assures interoperability with a wide range of similarly compliant decoders and exploitation systems, assuring that our war fighters have timely access to the highest quality Full Motion Video.

“We are thrilled to be a part of the General Atomics – Aeronautical Systems and United States Army Gray Eagle UAS program” said Gary Thom, President of Delta Information Systems. “This award is an affirmation of our commitment to General Atomics, the US Army and the unmanned systems community. Our rugged airborne video encoders, used in the Gray Eagle aircraft, provide outstanding Full Motion Video capability for this important program.” Mr. Thom further stated, “The use of stand alone video encoders, like the Model 6021R, not only provide excellent performance and functionality, but also provide a very flexible and cost effective migration path as video compression technology advances or as more video streams are added.”
